Learning from home

Easter Home Learning Ideas

As the gate shuts on the Spring term, I would like to wish all of you a safe and happy Easter break in the hope that the coming term brings us all the promise of sunnier times ahead. Below you will find a whole host of activities for the holiday period that will, hopefully, inspire you to try new things and attempt to learn new skills - I have decided to try and tackle my fear of musical instruments!

After the holidays, I will be uploading more learning slides for you to complete but, in the meantime, have a lovely break, be kind to one another and stay safe.

Kindest regards,

Mr. Smith (and Mr. Douglas who is going to try and learn all of his times tables).

Good morning everyone and welcome to the last day of term!

I do hope that you have enjoyed the challenges of this week's learning (in a positive way) so far and are looking forwards to today's activities. I'm particularly keen to read some book reviews as Mr. Douglas (on the left) and I are looking for new books to read over the holiday period. Mr. Douglas likes adventurous tales of daring do and I'm quite partial to a bit of history (fact or fact-based fiction). What do you suggest?

Don't forget that you can now email in questions and examples of your learning to the class email address:  wintertor@okehampton-pri.devon.sch.uk

Finally, I'd like to wish you all a great Easter break and watch this space for the next instalment.

Good morning! Below is a picture I took out on my daily walk yesterday - Spring is springing up all around!

I'm aiming to add a picture a day.

In addition to today's slides and the Joe Wicks workout, I would like to recommend  http://www.robbiddulph.com/draw-with-rob for those wanting to work on their drawing skills - I particularly like the 'Gregosaurus'.

If you have already read all of your books at home, or fancy a bit of a browse, check out the online books here: https://readon.myon.co.uk/library/browse.html

Additionally, https://scratch.mit.edu/  has loads of online tutorials and projects to keep you coding and developing your computational thinking skills.

Good luck and Godspeed!

Good day! As well as sharing the latest set of slides, I'd like to congratulate you on your progress with TT Rock Stars. The average response time is going down and the success rate is going up! Well done and don't forget to have a go every day.

Keep up your hard work and good luck.

Hello! I do hope that you found Monday's learning accessible and that you managed to complete the tasks. The latest activities are in the PDF below.

Joe Wicks is live at 9am if you fancy an energetic start to your day. He also has loads of workouts for children and adults on YouTube if 9am doesn’t fit in with your home timetable.

Please remember to stay safe online and have a great day!

Good morning everyone!

I hope that you all enjoyed a little sunshine yesterday after weeks and weeks of seemingly non-stop rain.

Today's learning slides are attached in the pdf below. Did you know that your device might be able to read the pdf to you? Helpful if you need another voice to read questions or section of text to you.

Good luck and don't forget TT Rock Stars.
