School Council

At Okehampton Primary School what the children have to say about school is very important to us. We often run pupil questionnaires or interview pupils for their opinions about a wide range of matters from their preferred ways of learning to their preferred vegetables to go with their school meals!

Two key groups who champion the views of pupils are our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 School Councils. The school council is elected each term to represent the views of all pupils and to improve school. They have recently carried out their own Health and Safety walk of school and re written the schools Anti Bullying Policy to ensure it is all written so that all children in school can read and understand it easily. There are ongoing discussions about school dinners and making sure playtimes are fun with lots of activities.

If you are interested in becoming part of the School Council, either in KS1 or KS2, speak to your class teacher.
