Why we teach RE

RE helps children understand different beliefs and ways of life. It encourages respect, empathy and reflection, helping children make sense of their own values and the world around them.

How we teach RE

Children explore world religions and worldviews through stories, artefacts, visits and thoughtful discussions. Lessons encourage questioning and help children recognise similarities and differences between beliefs.

What we want children to learn

Children learn about important beliefs, celebrations and traditions. They develop understanding, tolerance and the confidence to reflect on their own views.
