I've been reading in the morning and after lunch. I'm reading Tom's Midnight garden which is about a boy in isolation from the measles. I'm also reading a book about self care by Dr Chattergee. It's a great one for grown ups, Holes by Louis Sachar and Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (grown ups) and a book about teenagers in New York so I am travelling around the the world and back in time too! Online reading links have been added below. MYON - books can be matched to accelerated reader. We have also added Epic, and Scholastic. Oxford Owls is great. Please take a look.
Also the CLPE web page has great quality story reading by authors. Links are in the PDFs. Make reading fun and short regular sessions where this helps. Aim for 30 mins daily in short bursts or a longer read depending on your child and their stage of reading.
This is a great time to get a reading habit going. Don't give up. You will have days when you dont read but go back another day and try again. Try reading at a set time in the day e.g after Joe Wicks, or after brushing your teeth or your daily walk. This is the way to set a habit in place. Well done.
