Before and After School Clubs

Before School Breakfast Club

 

Breakfast Buddies runs from 7:45am each morning to support parents who need to bring their children to school earlier.

We offer a variety of cereals, apple or orange juice and toast. Once breakfast is finished they all play together in the Main Hall and are then taken to their classroom ready for registration.

 

If you wish to send your child to the club could you please complete the Registration Form below and hand into Reception.  In the meantime if you wish to find out further information about the club then please speak to The Administration Team in Reception.

TOPS After School Child Care Provision

 

We hope that by providing an after school in school we will be supporting parents and pupils alike. Parents will be able to access the club in the knowledge that their children will have top quality childcare at the end of the school day. Children will be given a healthy snack and be able enjoy a range of physical, creative and educational activities, whilst making new friends at the same time, but also have the opportunity to relax and rest as they need to.


Where is it held?

Tops club for Reception and Year 1 Children is based in the Key Stage 1 central area, and may use other areas of the school for certain activities.

Year 2–Year 6 children will be based in Great Links Tor, which is the building sited at the front of the school.

 

How does it work?

The club will run from 3.30pm until 6.00pm every night after school. Children from Reception and Years 1 will be collected from their classrooms at the end of the day by a member of the team. Children in Years 2 to 6 will make their way to the main hall where members of staff will be there to meet them. There will be children who attend an after school club e.g. Football Club or Art Club whose parents need them to attend TOPs club from when their club ends e.g. 4.30pm. Club leaders will escort these children safely to TOPs Club.

There is a variety of activities each day including arts, games, multi-skills activities and ICT. We also have on hand availability of watching appropriate DVDs or playing on computer games for children when they just need to chill out for half an hour and rest. The sessions evolve around the ages and interests of the pupils that attend and the children are involved in resourcing the equipment.

 

Food and drink?

Healthy snacks and drinks will be provided to all children attending the club. The cost of this is included within the fee. The choices will change from day to day and if your child has any specific dietary requirements just let us know and we will ensure they are catered for.

 

How will payment work?

The charge for each hour is £5. This can be broken down into half hour slots with a minimum charge of £5. e.g. 3.30pm to 4.30pm = £5, 3.30pm to 5pm =£7.50, 3.30pm to 6.00pm = £12.50. Fees will be invoiced on a half termly basis via post and an email will be sent to you too! Payments can be made online via the School Gateway. Alternatively, you can pay by Childcare Vouchers (please see the school office for further information). Cheque payments must be made to the office in a sealed named envelope marked TOPs Club. (cheques to be made payable to Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust).

 

For late pick- ups after 6.00pm, there will be an immediate charge of £5 and thereafter charged at a rate of £2 per 10 minutes. Parents should phone the club staff to let them know if they are running late, (07706 173 082).

 

The club can be accessed on either a regular basis or on occasional days. To ensure a guaranteed place we ask that you complete a booking form, which are available from the school office. Simply indicate on the sheet the session(s) you would like to book for your child for the next week, weeks or half term; then return the form to the school office. Currently we are able to accommodate parents booking in their child the same day as the club is needed. If we become busier, booking will become essential but we will give parents warning of this. On making your first booking with the club you will be asked to sign a Terms and Conditions Agreement. The club will also have a range of policies relevant to it and these are available either from the school website or a hard copy will be available for parents to look at in folder in the club.

 

Who is running it?

Mrs. Lou Taylor is our TOPs leader. Lou has worked in our Nursery or Reception for over 12 years, and also has lots of experience with older children.

Playworkers are Helen Cooke, Jo Reed, Nicola Brogan, Joanna Polak and Sonya Garrett.
